....first of all let me say that I'm quite disappointed no one posted their "Smack the Penguin" scores. That was definitely my timewaster of choice for a good 3 weeks. :) Onto other things...
A co-worker and I were discussing the movie "The Bucket List" (I haven't seen it, but do want to!) a week or so ago and I was telling her about the 101 in 1001 concept. She thought it was a great idea and is now going to create a list with her friends. However, her list will differ because it's a group 101 list. I thought it was a neat yet difficult (because it depends on so many people) concept. We'll see. Can't wait to see how their list turns out....
ps - I know I haven't updated my list in awhile. I'll try to get to it soon. I've done a thing or two, but am definitely NOT working at an appropriate pace!!!

Smack the Penguin!
So my friend, Stephanie, sent me an email forward today with the best game EVER! The email warned it was addictive, but I didn't believe it. Flaw in the plan because I am addicted. Anyway, please try to Smack the Penguin! I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! My high score (so far) is 322.9 323.3 323.5. What's yours?

One more off the list...
I HAD ETHIOPIAN FOOD!!
On Saturday, my book club had its monthly meeting at Dukem in Baltimore to discuss this month's book, A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah. Dukem is an Ethiopian restaurant near the Meyerhoff. I was excited and terrified at the same time because I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Well, let it be said that I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure if I was more pleased with the food or the experience itself.
We decided to get a combination platter so we could sample several different things. There was lamb, beef, chicken, lentils, peas, and things I don't recall. It was served with a tangy flatbread that is used to pick up the food and eat - no utensils! Great fun! Some of the food was a bit spicy for my palate, but it was good nonetheless. I highly recommend that everyone try Ethiopian cuisine. I can't wait to return!

Sleep....
....that's what I want. Things have been hectic in my life these past couple weeks and will continue to be so for the next few. So many changes are happening in my life right now. My roommate is moving to DC, so a new one will be moving in. I've decided that I'm going to at least apply to graduate school (now I can cross that off my 101 102 list) and will, hopefully, be accepted. If I am....more change! For a person who considers herself to be 'laid back' and 'go with the flow,' I have decided that I don't really enjoy change because it causes me great stress and then I either sleep too much or not enough. Right now, I am definitely on the not enough side of the equation. I cannot wait to go to sleep early on Friday night and sleep late on Saturday!!!

Lunch Bags for a Cause
A few years back, a co-worker and I both spotted lunch bags in Real Simple magazine. Since everyone on our lunch shift made fun of us for using shopping bags, we decided to buy these bags from Lean Cuisine. The bags are a flat rate of $9.95 - shipping included - and $5 goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Order soon because they run out fast! Last year I tried to buy at the end of September/early October and they were sold out!

A Date
On Tuesday, I went on what I guess one could technically call a "date." It was an interesting date that included drinks and a meal and conversation, but it was not a date that will lead to other dates. I guess technically, I can scratch it off my list and I will do just that so I can complete another task. However, it would've been much more fun to scratch it off after going on a date that may lead to other dates. Maybe I'll get the opportunity to scratch it off twice.....
Question: Does it count as a date if I pay? I mean, I'm supposed to be a modern woman....

102 in 1002
I started this post a LONG time ago....
So, I'm making a change. While on a FABULOUS trip to Savannah, GA, my awesome hosts told me they had a tractor. It wasn't just any tractor, it was a John Deere! How exciting is that?! Well, it was exciting to me. They told me I could drive it, but unfortunately we ran out of time. I was so excited Jessica (aka. awesome host #1) asked if it was on my 101 list. It wasn't on my list because I didn't know of anyone who owned a tractor and actually never thought I'd be able to drive one. Now, not only will I be able to drive a John Deere, but I also have an EXCELLENT excuse to return to Savannah.
Since the opportunity has been given to me, I am adding "Drive a John Deere" to my list. I will officially now be completing 102 things in 1002 days. :)
Thanks, Jessica & Mark (aka. awesome host #2)!
